Smackdown: Stephen King v. Stephenie Meyer
Stephen King think Stephenie Meyer no write good. True as it may be, her millions of fans don’t give a rip because they aren’t reading the words as imaging the words in their mind (so I say). Also, considering her book is juvenille literature – its also not a slam to call her writing style juvenille.
Author Stephen King recently told USA Weekendthat Twilight Saga author “Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn.” Does he realize he just sacrificed himself to the world-wide army of tweens and teens who are blood-thirsty vampires-in-training!
Maybe he is depressed and wants to die.
He then tried to make himself seem cool to the young book-buying crowd by declaring that Harry Potter’s J.K. Rolling is a “terrific writer” stating: “Both Rolling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people…The real difference is that Jo Rolling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.”
The reason he gave his opinion about the two best-selling authors is because USA asked him if he thought he had inspired newer authors, such as Rolling and Meyer. King tried to justify his viewpoint by comparing the Twilight Saga to the Perry Mason series created by Erle Stanley Gardner by saying, “He was a terrible writer, too, but very successful.” He then explained why he thought millions of people worldwide liked the Twilight books. “People are attracted by the stories, by the pace, and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up a kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening, because they’re not overtly sexual. A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like the vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all hot and cold. And for girls, that’s a shorthand for all the feelings that they’re not ready to deal with yet,” said King.
Even if Meyer’s books are not school recommended 12th-grade-level books, what was his last hit novel that caused a world-wide phenomenon?
Bottomline: Stephenie Meyer we no care if you don’t write pretty.

Maybe he is depressed and wants to die.
