Robert Pattinson Sheds Details on TODAY

March - 1 - 2010 Comments

Twilight: Eclipse  star Robert Pattinson opened up about his controversial naked Details magazine spread on the “Today Show” (March 1).  Pattinson was on the “Today Show” to promote his upcoming movie “Remember Me” and to give his adoring fans some him-time.  Apparently Pattinson is turning out to be quite the joker??  When asked about his Details spread, he said he offered to be be naked in Details, but the magazine wanted him clothed with the naked women around him.  I guess it’s more realistic that the women drop trou and everything else around him…?

Here’s the video with the DETAILS…

Battle of the Forks

February - 11 - 2010 Comments

Washingon that is.

The Twilight homebase, Summit, is suing someone over a Forks Documentary?  Why?  …. because apparently Twilight and Summit own Forks.  I guess it goes a littler deeper, like into the Summit wallet.  Summit is suing Topics (the other Forks Documenterer) over their Twilight-esque documentary of Forks, WA – the setting for the Twilight Sage.

Here’s the DVD covers, you be the judge.

Summit’s documentary is scheduled to go on sale March 20 and Topics is set for a March 16 release.

Hilary Swank Caught Between Twilight Hunks

February - 8 - 2010 Comments

Apparently the Saints and the Colts weren’t the only ones with a rivalry on Sunday.

It all went down at the star-studded Audi Superbowl Party, where Hilary Swank and Twilight studs Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz were all in attendance.  During the soiree Taylor asked to be introduced to Hilary Swank (apparently she didn’t know who he was?!).  While they were snuggled in for a photo-op, Kellan Lutz was pulled into the mix and guess what?  Three’s a crowd.  Apparently both Kellan and Taylor were vying for Hilary’s attentions.

“Taylor looked really annoyed and pulled away from the shot immediately, without a word to Kellan,” our spy says. “It was incredibly awkward.”

Maybe the DirectTV sand volleyball game wasn’t so friendly, since Kellan and Taylor were on opposing teams.

Come on Boys, your on the same team!  Is this the first piece of inter-Twilight-star drama?  And the boys rose to the occasion…nice.

Yet Another New Movie for Taylor Lautner

February - 7 - 2010 Comments

Mr. Taylor Lautner will be busy for the rest of his life with all the movies deals he’s been inkin.  We are very happy for his success, but don’t forget to make time for the hand that rocked your cradle!  Twilight: Eclipse needs your face on promotion and your time for Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

So what’s new?  —> Taylor is starring in the new Stretch Armstrong 3-D!  Do you know who Stretch is?  Probably not cause most of you weren’t even born in the 80’s!  So here’s a side-by-side pic.  So I say yes to the tighty whities…but no to the orange fake tan.  Can’t wait to SEE how this one turns out.

taylor and stretch

Here’s the scoop from E!

“He will soon embody Hasbro’s popular ’80s toy in Universal’s adaptation of Stretch Armstrong. The movie, to be produced by Brian Grazer, will be released in 2012 in 3-D. The studio has yet to hire a director for the movie, but Steve Oedekerk (Bruce Almighty) has written the script. Universal made the announcement late Friday night along with the news that they will push back their other big Hasbro property Battleship, from director Peter Berg, from its original July 2011 release to Memorial Day weekend 2012 to give the filmmaker more time to finish the large-scale project”

Twilight the Graphic Novel

January - 21 - 2010 Comments

Now it’s not what you think. I know when you read the word Graphic – your mind wandered a bit and images of Edward….you get the picture. Graphic, the way I’ve used it, means picture. This is the next frontier for Stephenie Meyer’s mega-bucks franchise ‘Twilight.”
Here’s a sneak peak at the first graphic – the cover of “Twilight: The Graphic Novel”, illustrated by Young Kim.

Twilight: The Graphic Novel

Illustrated by Korean artist Young Kim with input from Meyer on every panel, the first volume of Twilight: the Graphic Novel will be published on 16 March. Its publisher said the black and white title, with colour interspersed throughout, would combine “a rare fusion of Asian and western comic techniques”.

The cover shows human teenager Bella Swan sprawled on the grass – an image from the dream that first inspired Meyer to write the novel. “In my dream, two people were having an intense conversation in a meadow in the woods. One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire,” she has said. “I stayed in bed, thinking about the dream. I was so intrigued by the nameless couple’s story that I hated the idea of forgetting it; it was the kind of dream that makes you want to call your friend and bore her with a detailed description.”

The American author said yesterday that Kim’s graphic interpretation of her characters and settings was “very close” to what she was imagining while writing the series. “It takes me back to the days when I was writing Twilight,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s been a while since I was really able to read Twilight; there is so much baggage attached to that book for me now. It seems like all I can see are the mistakes in the writing. Reading Young’s version brought me back to the feeling I had when I was writing and it was just me and the characters again. I love that. I thank her for it.”

Meyer’s Twilight saga – Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn – has sold 85m copies worldwide. Its UK publisher Little, Brown said it had sold more than a million copies of each novel in the series in Britain alone. “I can’t say that I am done with Twilight forever,” Meyer told EW. “I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors.”

January - 19 - 2010 Comments

Robert Pattinson attend The Cinema Society & D&G screening of "T“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson will reportedly appear on the London segment of George Cooney’s “Hope for Haiti” telethon on Friday (Jan. 22).

Word from E!, which will also be airing the telethon on their network, is that Rob will present performances by Jay-Z and Bono.

There’s been no official announcement, but a press release is supposed to go out today.

Performers from the US will include Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Bruce Springsteen.

Other stars helping out and manning the phone banks may include: Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Renée Zellweger, Chris Pine, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Colin Farrell, Jon Hamm, Gabby Sidibe and Emily Blunt.

Why do we have a feeling that Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart will be easily recruited as well?

If those three can’t get young people to contribute to this worthy cause, no one can.

“Hope for Haiti” will air Friday, Jan. 22 from 8 to 10 P.M. on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, E! and CMT.

Pattinson is NOT Spiderman

January - 17 - 2010 Comments

The word is final, Robert Pattinson is not, nor has he ever, been considered as the the next ‘Spiderman.’  Here are the details from the LA Times.

141722_twilight_SAWA story from the Reelz Channel website, picked up like a found dollar bill by sites all around the Web, offers the tantalizing and stupendously specious news that Rob Pattinson is being cast as the new Spider-Man.

There are several reasons this can’t happen. For one thing, as the studio points out, the director would need to come first, and if Marc Webb or anyone else is on it, they’d certainly want to canvas the town before making a hire. The second problem is age — Pattinson is now 23, and this clearly is going to be a high-school movie. And finally, it would be a terrible idea. There’s already a question mark on the movie — why bring in an actor with questionable skills? Next they’ll have Taylor Lautner as Captain America. Or as, um, Max Steele.

Of course, the Pattinson story isn’t true at all. The site that originated the item (origin story?) belongs to the Reelz Channel — you know, the place Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein went to work after the Washington Post. And even the Reelz people didn’t believe it: The dateline on the story is April 1. (It looks like it was republished today after first being published on the actual date, though it’s tough to tell.)

Stephenie Meyer Puts the Bite into Book Sales

January - 14 - 2010 Comments

stepheniemeyerballoonsThank you JK Rowling for pulling the children – and adult non-readers – into the light with your books.

And Thank you Stephenie Meyer for fueling that fire! We heart you.

To you Twilight fans that haven’t read any of the books: Here is your official challenge…READ TWILIGHT! We all know not everything can captured into a couple hours of film – you will not be disappointed.

Led by Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, vampires devoured USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list in 2009.
For the second year in a row, Meyer swept the top four spots. No other author — not even J. K. Rowling— has done that in the list’s 16-year history.

Meyer’s coattails pulled 16 other vampire titles onto the list of the year’s 100 most popular books.

“Meyer had an unbelievable impact,” says Michael Norris, books analyst for Simba Information, a market-research firm. He wonders what publishers will do when what he calls ” ‘the vampire industrial average’ falls. Every cycle has an end.”

But for now, Meyer — who has also benefited from Twilight movie adaptations, with more to come — has turned “the YA (young adult) category into the PG-13 of books,” he says. “She’s not just read by tweens and teens, but by a lot of 30-year-old women.”

Disney Wants a Piece of Twilight

January - 14 - 2010 Comments

In recent business news, probably outside the interest of you readers, Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross axed Oren Aviv, production chief of the Burbank Studio. So does he want to replace him with? Someone linked to Twilight…enter Erik Feig, head of production at Summit Entertainment and the executive behind the “Twilight” franchise.

But, it appears that Feig, who has worked at Summit for nine years and is still under contract, is staying put.

“He’s not going to Disney and he never asked to be released from his contract,” said his boss, Rob Friedman, chief executive of Summit. Feig did not respond to a call or e-mail seeking comment.

It is understandable that Ross would court Feig. He fits the mold of the newly reshaped Disney studio, where Ross is trying to rein in costs and launch new franchises that don’t necessarily depend on big stars.

It’s also understandable that Disney wants a piece of the Twilight magic making machine.  Feig and Summit were able to turn a fantastically successful book into a successful movie franchise – not an easy feat (ie: Eragon, Scarlet Letter, The Hours, Dr. Suess..you get the idea).  And beyond that, Summit was able to take relatively unknown actors – no one was lusting after Cedric Diggory – and turned them into A-list stars with endless new opportunities.  In short Feig knows what he’s doing.

Feig, who began his career by producing Sony Pictures’ teen horror film “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and then went on to produce that studio’s teen comedy “Slackers,” was the executive who brought Stephanie Meyer’s vampire books to Summit after Paramount Pictures put the project in turnaround. “Twilight,” which cost $37 million to produce, and its $50-million budgeted sequel, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” have collectively grossed $965 million at the worldwide box office. The next installment, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” is due out in June. Feig is also overseeing Summit’s dance sequel “Step Up 3D,” which Disney is distributing in the U.S.

Taylor Lautner Plans to Win Back Taylor Swift

January - 12 - 2010 Comments

…speaking of made up news (Cattle Ranch for Robsten), according to China Daily News, Taylor Lautner is trying to win Taylor Swift back at all costs.  Well, not all costs, specifically it will cost him:

  1. Four dozen red roses
  2. Diamond friendship ring
  3. Romantic dinner date in LA

This is all according to a very ‘reliable’ source.  This insider goes on to say:

taylorandtaylor1

“He (Lautner) whole-heartedly believes they have something special and that it’s worth fighting for. Swift wants to channel her energy into her career, but Lautner isn’t accepting her rejection.”

The source added: “The way he sees it, this is nothing more than a minor setback in an enduring love affair.”

Good luck with that.
