Robert Pattinson Single, Again

December - 11 - 2009 Comments

Enough with the back and forth and conjecture…it’s an easy question. Single or Not. Apparently it is true. Hopefully this is the last I will ever post, this week, on this topic! So whoever is lucky enough to be his next leading lady, this is the kind of fun you can expect from the Man.
robert-pattinson-licking-anna20281292

According to the actor himself, Robert Pattinson, though extremely busy, is both single and available. A recent piece published in Italian Vanity Fair gets the British movie star to talk about his life and about how he is completely and utterly misunderstood.

“I am single — almost everything that comes out about my private life is false.” says Pattinson in the high-profile magazine, talking about who he is. “I think it happens because, really, there is not much to say about what I’m doing. While I am filming, I live practically like a recluse in a hotel.”

Robert Pattinson may live like a recluse, but the New Moon star doesn’t have to continue that lifestyle in temporary housing. The heartthrob made bank on the latest Twilight movie and with the next one being released in about six months should provide enough money to buy the now-famous actor at least a condo, but probably more like a mansion, in which to enjoy some time off. So, Robert Pattinson, stop being a workaholic and put some more fun back into your life.

MTV’s Top 10 Funniest Twilight Moments

December - 11 - 2009 Comments

Thank you MTV for the laughs!!!

Though “New Moon” dominated the box office for weeks, the theater wasn’t the only place to find Edward, Bella and Jacob making a splash. It seems some of our favorite TV shows are just as obsessed with Stephenie Meyer’s fantastical creation as we are. In honor of “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner’s hosting gig on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” (and in the hopes that we’ll have another entry to add to this list), we’ve rounded up 10 totally “Twilight” TV shoutouts (in no particular order).

1

. “The Office”
121109_office
The NBC series gets not one, but two gold new moons—see what I did there?—for their hilarious “Twilight” twofer. The first took place during the Halloween episode “Koi Pond” when the employees of Dunder Mifflin organized a haunted house featuring two bloodsuckers—a traditional Count Dracula (Creed Bratton) and one we can only assume was meant to be Edward Cullen (B.J. Novak). When the Count cries “I want to suck your blood!” Edward (a.k.a. Ryan) responds, “That’s really not the trend in vampires right now.” So true! And then, just last night, Jim (John Krasinski) bought Kelly (Mindy Kaling) an Edward Cullen poster. We knew we loved this show for a reason!

2. “Vampire Diaries”

Skewering its vampire competition (and arguably the franchise that cleared the way for the series’ own success), bloodsucker Damon (Ian Somerhalder) cozies up to a copy of Stephenie Meyer’s original tome. “What’s so special about this Bella girl?” Damon asks his human chew toy Caroline (Candice Accola). “Edward’s so whipped.” When she asks why he doesn’t sparkle in the sun, he responds, “Because I live in the real world where vampires burn in the sun.”

3. “Jeopardy”

I’ll take Robert Pattinson for $200, Alex. Oh, if only. During the quiz show’s recent Teen Tournament an entire category was dedicated to “Twilight” The Novel. Any die-hard fan would have made it to Final Jeopardy with these easy peasy questions. We won’t give away the answers in case you want to play along. Check out the “Jeopardy” airing here!

4. “Cougar Town”

Who knew Courtney Cox was a Twilight Mom? On the Nov. 4 episode, 40-something Jules (Courtney) confessed to hunky neighbor Grayson that she had a naughty dream about him. When he seemed a little too pleased with himself, she deflated his puffed-chest with this laughable admission: “Relax stud, I have sex dreams about everybody—the president, Gene Simmons, Edward from ‘Twilight.’ Oooh, that sweet Edward.” But seeing as Edward is really in his 100s, that doesn’t make Jules much of a cougar after all.

5. “SNL”
121109_firelight
It took the usually timely sketch-comedy series a year after the first film’s release to lampoon it, but “SNL” finally sank its teeth into “Twilight” with the awesome parody “Firelight.” Perhaps it was worth the wait just to see Taylor Lautner’s maybe-girlfriend Taylor Swift brood as Bella Swan. Check out the entire parody here!

6. “Criminal Minds”

During an investigation, the crew attempts to hack into a laptop and has success with the password “Cullen,” much to the consternation of Dr. Spencer Reid (a.k.a. our past Hump Day Hottie Matthew Gray Gubler). “What’s ‘Twilight’?” he asks. Oh, where to even begin? We guess that guest appearance by Jackson Rathbone last season didn’t leave much of an impression on Spencer, huh?

7. “90210″

Dunder Mifflin employee Ryan wasn’t the only one to dress as a “Twilight” universe member this Halloween. So did Liam (Matt Lanter) on “90210.” OK fine — not really. Still, during the show’s costume party—the one in which Teddy (Trevor Donovan) is indeed garbed like Count Dracula—Liam is asked by a party-goer if he’s supposed to be a certain bed-headed Brit. “You’re Rob Pattinson, right? I can tell, ’cause you have messy hair.” That’s what you get for wearing flannel in Beverly Hills.

8. “Hannah Montana”

Miley Cyrus’ now-defunct Twitter account isn’t the only place she name drops RPattz. In an episode of her Disney series, Miley talks about potentially being set up with Rob. Real-life Miley, however, didn’t feel the warm fuzzies for the actor until a few months ago tweeting, “Gave a hug to Rob Pattinson today. Ok girls I get it now. So cute. Sorry ‘Robby’ bout all my bashing in my past : ).”

9. “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”
121109_fallon
Host Jimmy Fallon must really enjoy hanging from trees and affecting a British accent, because he’s made his gag “Robert is Bothered” a recurring bit on his show. After taking jabs at sharks and Snickers, our favorite is still the original when RPattz rumbles with “Harry Potter” costar Daniel Radcliffe.

10. “Attack of the Show”

Though the final installment of the “Twilight Saga” has yet to be greenlit for the big screen, the folks over at G4 wasted no time putting together a “Breaking Dawn” spoof featuring Peter Facinelli. It must be seen to be truly appreciated — watch now!

Pirate is FREEEED

December - 11 - 2009 Comments

All charges against the poor lass who taped a few minutes of New Moon have been dropped!  That’s so awesome, cause the thousands, or maybe even tens of thousands, of dollars that cost us to make a spectacle of her was sooo worth it.  NOT.  For the details, read on.

12-11-09_Hein_Tumpach_222-year-old Samantha Tumpach can relax. There won’t be any vampires, werewolves, or lawyers coming after her.

A Cook County judge dismissed the charges against the Chicagowoman, who was accused of illegally videotaping the movie Twilight: New Moon.  Tumpach was arrested November 28 after a Muvico Theater usher caught her using a handheld video recorder at the movie showing. She was charged with criminal use of a motion picture exhibition facility, a Class 4 felony.

While Tumpach admitted that two short segments of the film were caught on her camera, her intention was not to record the movie. Instead, she said she was taping the events of her sister’s birthday party.

Chaske Spencer Sets the Record Straight

December - 11 - 2009 Comments

There has been a whole lot of talk over Chaske Spencer’s rehab, addict status prior to his role as Sam Uley in “New Moon.”  You can read on to see what Spencer wrote on his website. He does admit to having been in rehab, but the story coming from his own mouth has some major differences than the stories printed across various websites. Read on to check it out!

twilight-new-moon-wolf-packChaske Writes:

“Personal Message from Chaske Spencer Setting the Record Straight

To all the wonderful, incredibly loyal fans:

For those of you that read that I was in rehab, I wanted to make sure you heard the truth from me directly. Yes it is true, that I was in rehab, however it was over 19 months ago, long before NEW MOON was even on my radar. It was a pivotal time in my life where I was lucky enough to have supportive friends and family to help me get healthy. I am grateful that I have been clean and sober now for 19 months and cannot imagine my life if I had continued using drugs and alcohol. Almost everything else that was written about this is blatantly false and we are exploring our legal options. That was my past, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to create a new future for myself. I encourage anyone who is in a similar place to seek support from their friends and family and know that without them, I would not have had the chance to be where I am now.

I want to thank all of you for the support you have shown, and continue to show. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Chaske “

Taylor Lautner Bullied?!

December - 11 - 2009 Comments

Whether you’re in High School now or if you’ve been out of High School 30 years…you know the kids that were teased, bullied, harassed…kids that simply participated in different school activities, with gusto, ..like acting, like singing…maybe even singing and acting (GLEE!). If you look back at those ‘high school’ photos – there’s probably a good amount of those drama and choir nerds steaming it up on the big screen. Case in point: Taylor Lautner. OK back in his Sharkboy days – maybe…just maybe he got a shove or two. But I’d like to see someone taunt that muscle-y hotness now!?!

Taylor shares some insight on what it was like to be him back in the day (wait isn’t he still technically still back in the day?)…

taylor-lautner-rolling-stone-absUnderneath Taylor Lautner’s wet t-shirt and 30 pounds of muscle lies a dreamer’s heart, wounded by the taunting and jeers of high-school bullies. Oh, if only millions of Twi-hards could comfort him…

As the 17-year-old actor reveals in his upcoming Rolling Stone cover story, he wasn’t always a teen mega-star. He also drops hints about whether a certain pop star is his special lady and talks having his surf-sprayed six-pack displayed on newsstands nationwide.

Once, not so long ago, he was just a kid with a dream — who was mercilessly bullied. “I was never extremely confident,” Lautner told Rolling Stone. “Because I was an actor, when I was in school there was a little bullying going on. Not physical bullying but people making fun of what I do.”

We can imagine the taunts of “Sharkboy!” echoing in the hallways, now. Feel free to let us help you hug it out…
But the threat of the occasional swirlie didn’t keep Lautner from chasing that rainbow.

“I just had to tell myself I can’t let this get to me. This is what I love to do. And I’m going to continue to do it.”

Oh yes, you can do it, you can do it!

Robert Pattinson on How Twilight Changed His Life

December - 10 - 2009 Comments

If you’ve seen Robert Pattinson in Harry Potter, you probably (well maybe just me) paid little attention to the short-lived Cedric Diggory. When they first cast Robert Pattinson, there was quite the furor over his ability to carry off the icon that is Edward Cullen. I did doubt, but now I believe…well, come on, I believed the minute I saw him in Twilight. Now, for the details on the change…it’s kind of like he became Edward…he is own Bella and Edward. Ok, thats weird and too deep. But here’s the scoop about Robert’s change…

robert_pattinson1“Twilight” Robert Pattinson says his sudden rise to fame was just that — too sudden — turning it into a “bizarre” experience that has had more than a few negative consequences. In “New Moon,” he is a much less visible presence, turning over star duties to Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black, the shape-shifting werewolf. Jacob becomes a love interest of Kristen Stewart’s character, Bella Swan. Rob’s character, Edward Cullen is a secondary to the plot, appearing mainly in Bella’s visions. Rob has no regrets about that.

To the contrary, he relished taking a back seat, because it took some of the pressure from “Twilight” off of him and redirected to Taylor, who will be starring in an upcoming show “Saturday Night Live” ahead of Rob, who reportedly turned it down. Since “Twilight” debuted in 2008 and became an international phenomenon, that pressure has been unrelenting, he says in a new interview in the Italian edition of Vanity Fair magazine. “It’s bizarre becoming famous in this way. Believe me. it’s something that I never wished,” he says, according a translation of the article from Italian to English.

Rob says he is looking forward to getting some normalcy back in is life, but sadly it won’t be focused as much on music, one of his first loves.
“I was in my first band when I was 15. Now I play piano and guitar, sometimes, but only for myself. I can’t do concerts [or have a serious music career] because I will always be known as ‘the guy from ‘Twilight’ who wants to be a musician.’”

And, he plans to swear off girls for a while because he knows it would be difficult to have a relationship under the current circumstances.
For one, he says he will constantly have a security detail in tow for the foreseeable future, something he regrets, but knows he can’t do without.
“It’s totally crazy, I know, but I am getting use at it. It’s only because, when I’m without my bodyguard, I am afraid: it is nearly impossible even to come out from a restaurant and get in a car,” he says. But he draws the line on his entourage there. “I have no personal press agent and I want to avoid this,” he says.

“I clearly don’t want my life to become a reality show. In fact, if I see a photographer I go the other way. I give only a few interviews and I don’t do public appearances, if it is not necessary to promote a movie. I don’t want people to get tired of my face.”

Don’t worry Rob, that’s one thing you probably won’t have a problem with — for better or worse.

Argggg, No Pirates allowed…saavy?

December - 9 - 2009 Comments

A Chicagoland woman did two nights time for videotaping several minutes of New Moon. Worth it?! Prolly not. But read the details of the shakedown. Clearly The Twilight folks don’t be liking Pirates!

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 28 when 22-year-old Samantha Tumpach, of the 3800 block of Odell Ave., Chicago, was allegedly caught videotaping the movie by theater staff. She was charged and faces up to three years in prison if convicted. The camera had four minutes of video from the movie recorded from the screen. Reports say Tumpach was with friends at the end of a birthday celebration and video taped four minutes to commemorate the celebration. Tumpach spent Saturday night, Sunday and Monday morning in a Rosemont jail cell before appearing before a judge in the Rolling Meadows courthouse where she was released on a $10,000 I Bond (no cash), said Rosemont Police Sgt. Keith Kania.

The Director of Twilight: New Moon, Chris Weitz is speaking out on behalf of the defendant. Weitz says that authorities are unfairly making an example out of Samantha Tumpach. “Needless to say, the case seems to me terribly unfair and I would like to do what I can to address this,” Weitz wrote in an e-mail to the Sun-Times.Tumpach contends that she wasn’t taping the movie, per se, but was instead making a video of her sister’s surprise birthday party.

“It was never my intention to record the movie,” Tumpach said. “You can hear me talking the whole time.”

Weitz said he will contact the film studio on her behalf. “I am not sure what effect I would have on the case. The film is, after all, not my property,” Weitz wrote to the Sun-Times. “There is, needless to say, a difference between trying to protect the copyright of a film and making an unfair example of someone who clearly seems not to have any intentions towards video piracy,” Weitz wrote. Tumpach is due in court on felony charges Dec. 17

Samantha+Tumpach
“Theater managers are instructed to alert law enforcement authorities whenever they suspect illegal activity. Theater managers have neither the expertise nor the authority to decide whether a crime has been committed. Law enforcement professionals determine what laws may have been broken and what enforcement action should be taken,” read a portion of the statement. “It is then up to prosecutorial discretion to determine the seriousness of any charges that might be leveled. In our continuing effort to educate our guests about the illegality of film piracy, Muvico prominently places a number of posters and signs within its theaters alerting moviegoers of its “zero-tolerance” policy with respect to the camcording of films in its auditoriums.”

A spokeswoman from the Motion Picture Association of America said the cost of video piracy to the motion picture industry is estimated at $18 billion worldwide according to the most recently available statistics from 2005.

She said 90% of pirated titles in current theatrical release were made using cameras in theaters.

It Had To Happen Eventually

December - 9 - 2009 Comments

It looks like The Twilight Saga: New Moon finally bows out of its top seat this weekend to make a little room for others… of course, there is always the DVD release, which we know will be huge.

Now we have Eclipse to look forward to for several weeks of number one spot come June.

Twilight ‘New Moon’ fell to the #2 slot at the box office this weekend. What finally eclipsed ‘New Moon’? None other than a true story that took place right here in Memphis. Twilight ‘New Moon’ fell to the #2 slot between the surprising #1 box office hit, ‘The Blind Side’. However, when you consider overall revenues, ‘New Moon’ still has made about double that what ‘The Blind Side’ has.

Twilight ‘New Moon’ got about $15.7 million at the box office this week, which has grossed over $570 million worldwide in a little over three weeks. ‘New Moon’ has made $255.6 million in the US, compared to ‘The Blind Side’s $129.3 million.

“The Blind Side” is an inspirational story of how a wealthy Memphis family took a homeless boy in to their home. The homeless boy turned is now known as Baltimore Raven Michael Oher.

“New Moon” received negative reviews from the critics, but was a hit at the box office. There are many “New Moon” followers in Memphis and several of the first showings at many theaters were completely sold out. Now, seeing “New Moon” is a lot easier now that the buzz has wore off.

Forks Welcomes Vampire Tourism

December - 7 - 2009 Comments

Random fact for the day, brought to you by Forks WA.

2008_twilight_008

The “Twilight” tourism bonanza shows no signs of abating in Forks, an old logging town on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula that’s won new fame as the setting for a teen vampire fantasy.

Marcia Bingham of the Forks Chamber of Commerce says more than 16,000 people passed through the town’s visitor center in July alone, doubling June’s number, and in one month nearly equaling 2008’s total of 18,485 people.

She notes that in the “old days” the Visitor Center focused mainly on teaching people about logging and coordinating tours of local natural resources. These days it’s all about vampires and werewolves. Logging tours have been cut back from three a week to one.

And the numerous visitors come armed with questions. Among them: Is it safe to go camping with the vampire problems in the area?

Twilight wins over Bollywood

December - 5 - 2009 Comments

twilightindiaDespite the year delay in Twilight’s release in India, the movie was very well received.  Twilight doesn’t deliver on the standard Bollywood format, but boy oh boy do the people love it.  Twilight, Twiiiilight, Twilight?  Just imagine when the bigger, hittier New Moon hits India?!

Fans of Hindi films won’t find it surprising that yet another obsessive filmi hero with tendencies bordering on stalking (not unlike Vivek in Saathiya, or Siddharth in Bommarillu) has acquired quite the following in India. This hero, however, isn’t desi. He doesn’t speak Hindi–at least, not that we know of. In fact, he’s technically not even human. You guessed it; Edward Cullen, the famed Adonis-like vampire of Twilight, is making an intercontinental splash—and India isn’t left out of the craze.

When asked why she loved Twilight, Bollywood blogger Miss Malini replied, “So I know the Twilight series is supposed to be for teenage girls but come on, how hot is Edward and how am I not supposed to notice?! I like the whole modern take on vampires and romance, the fact that they pull away from any sort of stereotypical representation and the pace of the narrative.” Another fan, Aditi K., responded to the films’ release, saying, “I’m ecstatic that Twilight finally released in India and New Moon releases on December 11! Can’t wait. However as crazy as this may sound, watching Twilight on the big screen was definitely a different experience, it was magical and spell-binding! I hope New Moon is even better!” Adding, “I’ve been captivated by Edward Cullen ever since I read Twilight. And the fact that Robert Pattinson plays him…it couldn’t get any better. I’ve been a fan of his since Harry Potter and unlike majority of girls who started liking him because he plays Edward, I loved the on-screen Edward because of Rob! Edward Cullen is the perfect man…umm vampire…and beyond that I can’t say anything else because he leaves me speechless . I can go on and on about the Twilight …I am a certified ‘Fanpire’.”

That’s right, even though India might have had to wait a year after its release to see Twilight on the big screen, the vegetarian vampire clan and its human interloper, Bella, have taken over the hearts of desi moviegoers. In fact, some of our favorite Bollywood vamps have joined in the sparkle-mania. Minissha Lamba declared herself a fan of the books–and of Edward. Preity Zinta saw New Moon during her recent visit to the U.S., and announced afterward: “Saw New Moon! It was Awesome! This is the closest I will ever come to liking any blood sucking Vampires!”Ayesha Takia said after watching Twilight, “I saw Twilight on big screen and I had a blast. Can’t wait for New Moon. I am team Edward for sure! Rob P is amazing. Bella and Jacob are fab but love Edward. Looking forward to seeing New Moon on 11th December!”

Ayesha might change her tune come 11 December, since women have been switching by the dozens to Team Jacob after getting an eyeful of Taylor Lautner’s well-built werewolf. Regardless, Robert Pattinson has high hopes for the film. In a recent e-mail interview with Indian Express, the former Cedric Diggory wrote, “I expect that ‘New Moon’ breaks all the records in India too. I hope people like the film and it becomes a craze there.” It certainly looks like it’s well on its way, Rob!

Forks: An International Destination and a Fake!

December - 3 - 2009 Comments

Forks is a small town in Washington, like 3000 people small. This little town was thrust into the limelight when Stephenie Meyer chose it as the setting for her Twilight series. Ever since the Twilight craze…well before the movies ever came out. I personally had friends dressed in prom and wedding dresses vacation in Forks to pay hommage to their craziness, I mean obsession. Besides the fact Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (probably) weren’t even filmed there. But who am I to talk…I totally get it and am just jealous I have been yet.

Even fans in Korea are talking about Forks! Here’s the Korean news article along with some authentic Forks-footage.

forks

If you haven’t read the “Twilight” books or watched the movies, then it might be safe to say you’ve never heard of Forks, Wash.
“The Twilight Saga,” a series of books by Stephenie Meyer, is about a teenage girl Bella Swan who falls for a vampire Edward Cullen. Their love unfolds in Forks, a murky, overcast town surrounded by lush forests that Meyer thought would be a perfect place for vampires to thrive.

The phenomenal success of the books and two blockbuster films “Twilight” and “New Moon” has helped spur tourism in Forks, a town with a population of 3,175.

Never mind if Forks is at least a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Seattle, or that the two films were not even shot here (they were filmed in Portland and Vancouver respectively) or there are no actual vampires or werewolves in the area.

It hasn’t seemed to stop thousands of Twilighters, as fans like to call themselves, from making a pilgrimage to Forks.

Forks, described as the former logging capital of the world, only attracted as few as 50 tourists annually in the late 1990s. Thanks to Twilight, the number of tourists spiked dramatically. In 2008, 18,000 tourists visited the town, and in the first eight months of 2009, there were more than 60,000.

What exactly is the allure of this town with its “gloomy, omnipresent shade” that keeps tourists coming in droves? This reporter headed to Forks over the summer to find out.

`Twilight’ Zone

Going to Forks involves a three-and-a-half hour drive plus ferry ride from Seattle. It may be time-consuming, but it is also a chance to appreciate the scenic views of the Olympic Peninsula.

forks2

Along the way, there’s Port Gamble with its quaint traditional American-style houses and Port Angeles, a “beautiful little tourist trap” where Edward rescues Bella from a bunch of riff-raff. Port Angeles is also the gateway to the Olympic National Park, home to the Hoh Rain Forest.

It is a charming drive, with endless forests, sometimes covered in fog, and the spectacular glacier fed Lake Crescent.

Upon arriving in Forks, the weather was cloudy but not a drop of rain in sight, contrary to its reputation as the rainiest place in the continental U.S. (annually, it gets an average of 10 to 12 feet of rain).

The wooden “Welcome to Forks” sign greets visitors, exactly the same as the one seen in the film. No wonder it is the most photographed spot in town, according to locals.

Tourists who prefer to explore on their own should pick up a self-guided tour map with key book locations from the Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center. Inside, there’s various memorabilia from the books and film, including a note from Meyer. Incidentally, Forks celebrates Stephenie Meyer Day on Sept. 13, Bella’s birthday.

Outside the center, there’s a replica of Bella’s beat-up red truck, another good photo op. The Timber Museum, devoted to Forks’ logging history, is right next door but is often overlooked by the Twilighters.

Going through the streets, it’s obvious how much Twilight is defining Forks. The main street has five or six shops selling Twilight-related merchandise such as books, shirts, jewelry, sunglasses, coffee mugs, posters and dolls. There’s even Forks High School Spartans gym uniforms, Native American dream catchers and even “vampire killing” wooden stakes.

Even restaurants have jumped on the bandwagon: Smokehouse Restaurant boasts of Bella Berry Pie; Pacific Pizza offers the pasta dish Bellasange; while Three Rivers Resort has a special Twilight menu.

A `Dazzling’ Tour

For fans who want the ultimate Twilight experience, the Dazzled by Twilight store offers daily tours of key book locations in Forks and nearby La Push. For only $39, tourists are treated to an entertaining, photo op-filled three-hour tour on a black shuttle bus.

Rianilee Belles, the vivacious tour guide, keeps Twilighters pumped up with excitement by telling stories about Forks and giving pop quizzes about the books.

forks3
While Forks Police Station might be an unusual place to start any tour elsewhere, this spot holds special significance for Twilighters, since Bella’s father Charlie Swan is supposed to be the town’s chief of police. This is probably the only police station in the world with a mini-shrine devoted to Twilight in the lobby.

Belles says there are some die-hard fans who would deliberately try to get a speeding ticket from the Forks Police, just to get proof they were in Forks.

Even crazier is how some students who would try to transfer to Forks High School, to get bragging rights that they went to the same school as Bella and Edward. The school, a cluster of low buildings, looks like any other ordinary high school, but Twilight has turned it into a landmark.

Not everyone is happy with Twilight’s popularity however, and there was an incident earlier this year when some pranksters tried to burn down the school sign. The arson attempt was thwarted, and the sign, save for a few burn marks at the back, remains intact.

The tour also makes special stops at some local residents’ houses, which were simply designated as Bella’s or Jacob’s house, due to similarities to Meyer’s descriptions in the books. Bella’s modest home has a sign that proclaims “Home of the Swans,” while Jacob’s red-painted house has motorcycles parked outside.

The Cullen House, described in the books as “timeless, graceful and probably a hundred years old,” is actually the Miller Tree Inn Bed & Breakfast. The quaint house, surrounded by a small garden, is small in contrast to the film’s ultra-modern version.

There’s a mix of fiction and reality that fans seem to be perfectly comfortable with. Belles, the tour guide, would often talk about the book’s fictional characters as if they were real.

Even at the Cullen house, there’s a note written by Edward’s mother Esme. It reads: “The Cullens are off to the Amazon to learn more about wildlife in a tropical rainforest. We expect to be away for an extended period.” There’s also an empty parking space reserved for Edward’s father Dr. Carlisle Cullen at the Forks Community Hospital.

Werewolves in La Push

With the song “Werewolves of London” playing in the background, the tour bus heads out to La Push, a Quileute Native American reservation along the Pacific Ocean. Located 15 miles from Forks, La Push is where Bella’s friend Jacob and his tribe of werewolf descendants live.

There’s a “Treaty Line” sign that is supposed to keep vampires, the werewolves’ enemies, out of La Push. However, it’s only part of Meyer’s lore, since there’s no actual werewolf connection to the Quileute tribe.

First Beach, where Jacob first tells Bella about vampires and werewolves, is a magnificent sight. Strewn with driftwood, the beach is constantly pounded by strong waves, making it a favorite for surfers. Misty fog surrounds the rocky cliffs, where Bella would go cliff-diving in New Moon, adding more mystery to La Push’s wild beauty.

Taking a trip to Forks and La Push is a rare chance for Twilight fans to lose themselves in a world where they believe, at least for a few hours, that vampires and werewolves do exist.

Robert Pattinson separates from Edward Cullen

December - 3 - 2009 Comments

Robert Pattinson admits it is ’scary’ to take on a project outside Twilight. Kristen Stewart shared an opposite perspective in taking on Runaways, saying she had to take on something to keep her sanity while doing Twilight. Apparently Twilight is consuming for its actors….and its fans. So back to Robert, can he do something else? YES, we’d love to see you do something other than brooding vampire. Happy, angry…other emotions welcome. Here’s the full story from MTV.com along with the video clip.

Having been heralded to fame by the “Twilight Saga” and the once-fledgling Summit studio behind the mega-successful franchise, Robert Pattinson can’t help but wonder sometimes if it’s all just a fluke. “I’ve only done one movie outside of the ‘Twilight’ series, ‘Remember Me,’ “Rob recently said about his first post-fame project with Emilie de Ravin and Pierce Brosnan. “But even that I did with the same studio, so I guess I’m still a little bit blind as to what my actual economic viability will be outside of the series.”
Robert will be testing that “economic viability” with several projects throughout 2010 including the Guy de Maupassant adaptation “Bel Ami” with Uma Thurman and the Western “Unbound Captives,” which the actor discussed recently with MTV News.

“I’m doing—I hope—a western with Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman called ‘Unbound Captives’ sometime [next year],” Rob said. “They’ve got to try and juggle things around until everybody’s schedules work.”

Rather intentionally, the British heartthrob picked a role that couldn’t be further from his dashing vampire alter ego Edward Cullen. “I’m playing a kid who was kidnapped by Comanche [warriors] when he was four years old. And he was brought up by them, and then his mother [played by Oscar-winner Rachel] spends her entire life trying to find me and my sister,” he explained. “When she finds us, we can’t remember who she is, and can’t remember anything about the western culture which she grew up in.”

Rob snagged the plum role before “Twilight” hit it big in 2008, but he admits that his new-found fame adds an extra layer to any project he now takes on. “Before ‘Twilight’ I did any movie that I got [offered], and you’d try and make the best of it afterward,” he explained. “But now you’re expected to come into the movie and provide not only economic viability, but also a performance as well. You can’t just mess around. People are like ‘We’re employing you to be here, as a star and an actor.’ It’s difficult, and it’s scary.”
