Alright, I like the girl – in sneaks and a tee.  In couture and platforms – it’s kinda difficult to take.  I know she’s trying…but couldn’t her stylists try a little harder to find something that actually works….blegh.

She is Alive!  Kristen Stewart has shown herself at Park City, Utah.  The Twilight maven is in two Sundance Film festival entries and is in Park City catching some mountain time.

She arrived Friday, January 22nd and sure enough, photos of the elusive Kristen have surfaced.

The first group of her as she arrives SLC via a private jet – and quickly grabbing a drag, she looked in great spirits.

The photos in Park City, where she’s signing autographs – the tight lip returns…People of Park City…let the woman enjoy herself!  Hopefully she can let loose and have some fun!

Folks, it’s going to be a star-studded year at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT this year.
In prior years – indie stars make their mark at this prestigious film festival and move into mainstream movies…but this year the Belle of Sundance will be Kristen Stewart who is doing it backwards. This major movie star (of course because of Twilight, New Moon) is starring in not one but TWO Sundance films…”The Runaways” and “Welcome to the Rileys.”

In addition to the interest in Kristen’s movies, my personal interest includes photogs and fans catching her out in public (gasp).  It has been a while since Kristen has graced the public with her presence…may we all be condescended upon.

“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson will reportedly appear on the London segment of George Cooney’s “Hope for Haiti” telethon on Friday (Jan. 22).

Word from E!, which will also be airing the telethon on their network, is that Rob will present performances by Jay-Z and Bono.

There’s been no official announcement, but a press release is supposed to go out today.

Performers from the US will include Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Bruce Springsteen.

Other stars helping out and manning the phone banks may include: Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Renée Zellweger, Chris Pine, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Colin Farrell, Jon Hamm, Gabby Sidibe and Emily Blunt.

Why do we have a feeling that Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart will be easily recruited as well?

If those three can’t get young people to contribute to this worthy cause, no one can.

“Hope for Haiti” will air Friday, Jan. 22 from 8 to 10 P.M. on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, E! and CMT.

In a blush-colored dress, Up in the Air’s Anna Kendrick makes her way into the Beverly Hills Four Seasons for the Tenth Annual American Film Institute Awards, where her film was selected as one of AFI’s movies of the year. For her work in the drama, Kendrick is also nominated for a best supporting actress Golden Globe at this Sunday’s ceremony.

…well, he tries anyways.  Kellan Lutz (Twilight vampire, you know, you know) tries to go incognito while at Delano’s Florida Room in Miami during his NYE hosting duties.   Apparently the disguise didn’t work well and he served as some eye-candy to ladies in the crowd.  BUT, he only had eyes for his GF and was interested in only hanging with his crew.  We would like to see a pic of a black-wigged Kellan!

And his on-again, off-again “GF” AnnaLynne McCord of 90210 were definitely on this time.  According to PerezHilton:

Although AnnaLynne claimed she would be saving her midnight kiss for her sister, she was spotted sneaking into Kellan’s bungalow at the rival Shore Club late that night. Not to mention, the lovers were seen splashing around in the pool all day!

Alex Meraz’s top priority for visiting his “New Moon’ co-star Taylor Lautner’s hometown?
“I definitely drank some of the water,” the actor said before he signed autographs and snapped photos with approximately 1,000 “Twilight” fans before Saturday’s Griffins game. “I want to pop a couple more abs (like Lautner).”

A virtual unknown before inhabiting the role of werewolf Paul, Meraz was friendly and smiling as he greeted smitten fans. Among those thrilled: a pack of teen girls from Forest Hills Central High School, who had won tickets to the game and the chance to meet Meraz at a VIP autograph session before the general signing event organized by the clothing store Platos Closet.

Starry-eyed after meeting Meraz, they were iffy on whether their allegiance had shifted from “Team Jacob” (fans of Lautner’s character, Jacob Black, and by association his werewolf pack), and “Team Edward” (fans of Robert Pattinson’s character, Edward Cullen).

“If it were Team (Alex Meraz), then yes, I would have switched,” said Madeline Martin, 17. Her pals Skylar Grant and Hilary Spruit, both 17, concurred. “I’m on ‘Team No Shirt,’” joked Grant. Teenage girls were not the only demographic represented in the line to meet Meraz. Sara Heacox, 32, of Grand Haven was sporting a “Twilight Moms” tee shirt over her pregnant belly. Heacox is the book-of-the-month moderator for Twilightmoms.com, and recently met author Stephenie Meyer when she appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

“Those of us in ‘Twilight Moms’ tend to follow the actors in the movies, and (Meraz) is one of my favorites,” she said. “He paints and reads. He recently Tweeted that he was reading “Water for Elephants” (by Sara Gruen). I was impressed.” Meraz, wearing a thin sweater and “weak little jacket,” admitted he was “underdressed” for Michigan’s bluster. His werewolf character, Paul, would never be caught under-prepared for the elements; after all, he can shapeshift into a snarling, furry monster at will.

“(Paul) is unapologetic about what and who he is and his role as a protector,” Meraz said. The 24-year-old father of one promises that “Eclipse,” the third movie in the “Twilight Saga” franchise, will find Paul “hairier and scarier. The werewolves team up with the Cullens, and it’s a whole bigger thing.”
With his career launched into orbit by the extraordinary success of “New Moon,” the Arizona native is in talks with film producers to appear in more movies. Unless lightening strikes twice, though, Meraz may never be a part of a worldwide pop culture phenomenon like the one he’s in the middle of right now.
“(The Twilight Saga) is a love story, yes,” he said, attempting to explain the appeal of the books and movies that have captivated so many. “But more so, in this day and age, of war and financial crises, people want to go to a place of fantasy.”

Alert all Grand Rapids, Michiganians, a werewolf is coming to town!  Alex Meraz, who plays belligerent werewolf Paul in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” has leaped from tiny indie films to the top of the box office as part of the worldwide sensation that is everything Twilight.  ”(Being in ‘New Moon’) has changed my life tremendously,” the 24-year-old actor and married father of one said in a phone interview. “Before, I had to fight for auditions. I was never ‘Native’ enough, ‘Latin’ enough, ‘white’ enough.  Now I’m the perfect look,” he added wryly.

Meraz will appear Saturday at the Grand Rapids Griffins’ “Twilight Night.” He’ll sign autographs for ticketed fans before the Griffs’ 8 p.m. game with the Milwaukee Admirals.

Meraz will get his chance in Grand Rapids, as well as the opportunity to visit the hometown of his “New Moon” castmate Taylor Lautner, who also plays a Quileute teen-turned-werewolf in the “Twilight” sequel.

Based on the books by Stephenie Meyer about a teen girl who falls in love with a vampire, the new film has earned more than $255 million domestically and about $500 million worldwide since it opened Nov. 20.

Lautner, the Grand Rapids-born 17-year-old who lived in Hudsonville until he was 11, reprises his role as Jacob, one of the series’ main characters, in “New Moon.”

“Taylor — he, honestly, out of all the other cast members is so solid,” Meraz said. “Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, myself and everyone had moments of inner conflict and doubt, but Taylor was so composed, so calm and happy and centered every single day. That guy is a different breed. It must be the water in Grand Rapids.”

Having just wrapped up filming for the “Twilight” saga’s third installment, “Eclipse,” Meraz is reveling in newfound fame and the adulation of millions of “Team Jacob” fans whose affection for Lautner spills over to his “pack.”

Of the four shape-shifting werewolves, Meraz’s Paul is “the least conflicted about how he is,” said the father of baby son Somak.

“He is aggressive and honest about how he feels about (being a werewolf). He’s a bad boy, and I like that. It was nice to be able to play somebody bigger than life.”

Meraz, who originally auditioned for the role of Sam Uley, the pack’s leader, was raised in Arizona and is a Native Mexican Aboriginal of the Purepecha Nation. The fact that Meyer’s plot for “New Moon” heavily involved Native American people and their culture held deep meaning for the actor, whose previous credits include a bit part as a warrior in 2005’s “The New World.”

“It was great to play this role,” he said. “It’s kind of rare to see this kind of depiction of natives. When people think native, they think wearing leather and riding a horse; they think ‘Dances with Wolves.’ There are so many different tribes, and people can see a different aspect of native culture, of the Quileute tribe, in ‘New Moon.’”

Though he applauds Meyer’s attention to the Washington State tribe’s “real beliefs and culture,” he pointed out one major fictional embellishment: “The Quileute believe they are descended from wolves,” he said. “But only in the (’Twilight’) books and movies can they turn into wolves and back into humans again.”

Taylor and Taylor hit the Jingle Ball, hosted by KIIS FM 102.7. Here’s the skinny on the duo’s public outing…

Taylor Lautner was reportedly spotted hanging out with Taylor Swift at the 102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball concert in Los Angeles over the weekend. Lautner was seen quietly entering the Nokia Theatre, where Swift was playing on Saturday night, according to E! News.

According to the Web site, the “New Moon” star arrived at the theater alone and made his way to Swift’s dressing room. Inside, the two were reportedly behaving like a couple, with Lautner seen spending most of his time with Swift, although he also talked to members of her entourage as well as Swift’s mom.

“Taylor’s mom was constantly smiling around him,” a source told E!. Instead of watching the show from the crowd, as he did at her show in Chicago recently, he watched her from the side of the stage. Swift is set to play the Jingle Ball show this weekend in New York City, while Lautner will also be in town hosting “Saturday Night Live.”

“Just say the name Taylor in this house and see who says ‘hi,’ ” Ryan Seacrest told “ET” at the show on Saturday, referencing the sighting. “There could be a couple of voices. You follow me? Just see how many people you hear when you say ‘Taylor’ tonight. I think you should keep saying [it] and see if another Taylor responds.” E! also has footage of Lautner walking around backstage.

Late last week, the Taylors were spotted filming additional scenes for their film, “Valentine’s Day,” with co-star Emma Roberts at a local Los Angeles-area high school. Later in the day, they reportedly went to Benihana in Beverly Hills for dinner and then Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

Despite the year delay in Twilight’s release in India, the movie was very well received.  Twilight doesn’t deliver on the standard Bollywood format, but boy oh boy do the people love it.  Twilight, Twiiiilight, Twilight?  Just imagine when the bigger, hittier New Moon hits India?!

Fans of Hindi films won’t find it surprising that yet another obsessive filmi hero with tendencies bordering on stalking (not unlike Vivek in Saathiya, or Siddharth in Bommarillu) has acquired quite the following in India. This hero, however, isn’t desi. He doesn’t speak Hindi–at least, not that we know of. In fact, he’s technically not even human. You guessed it; Edward Cullen, the famed Adonis-like vampire of Twilight, is making an intercontinental splash—and India isn’t left out of the craze.

When asked why she loved Twilight, Bollywood blogger Miss Malini replied, “So I know the Twilight series is supposed to be for teenage girls but come on, how hot is Edward and how am I not supposed to notice?! I like the whole modern take on vampires and romance, the fact that they pull away from any sort of stereotypical representation and the pace of the narrative.” Another fan, Aditi K., responded to the films’ release, saying, “I’m ecstatic that Twilight finally released in India and New Moon releases on December 11! Can’t wait. However as crazy as this may sound, watching Twilight on the big screen was definitely a different experience, it was magical and spell-binding! I hope New Moon is even better!” Adding, “I’ve been captivated by Edward Cullen ever since I read Twilight. And the fact that Robert Pattinson plays him…it couldn’t get any better. I’ve been a fan of his since Harry Potter and unlike majority of girls who started liking him because he plays Edward, I loved the on-screen Edward because of Rob! Edward Cullen is the perfect man…umm vampire…and beyond that I can’t say anything else because he leaves me speechless . I can go on and on about the Twilight …I am a certified ‘Fanpire’.”

That’s right, even though India might have had to wait a year after its release to see Twilight on the big screen, the vegetarian vampire clan and its human interloper, Bella, have taken over the hearts of desi moviegoers. In fact, some of our favorite Bollywood vamps have joined in the sparkle-mania. Minissha Lamba declared herself a fan of the books–and of Edward. Preity Zinta saw New Moon during her recent visit to the U.S., and announced afterward: “Saw New Moon! It was Awesome! This is the closest I will ever come to liking any blood sucking Vampires!”Ayesha Takia said after watching Twilight, “I saw Twilight on big screen and I had a blast. Can’t wait for New Moon. I am team Edward for sure! Rob P is amazing. Bella and Jacob are fab but love Edward. Looking forward to seeing New Moon on 11th December!”

Ayesha might change her tune come 11 December, since women have been switching by the dozens to Team Jacob after getting an eyeful of Taylor Lautner’s well-built werewolf. Regardless, Robert Pattinson has high hopes for the film. In a recent e-mail interview with Indian Express, the former Cedric Diggory wrote, “I expect that ‘New Moon’ breaks all the records in India too. I hope people like the film and it becomes a craze there.” It certainly looks like it’s well on its way, Rob!
