New Moon Fervor Losing Steam

In the second week of the New Moon release, Team Sandra almost overtook Teams Edward and Jacob at the box office.
US Weekly Reports that after a record-breaking opening weekend, New Moon’s ticket sales dropped nearly 70% from Friday to Sunday, taking in $42.5 million.
The bigger surprise was its competition: Sandra Bullock’s The Blind Side grossed more, not less, in its second weekend, with a $40.1 million gross and a 20% increase.
Eonline reports that New Moon’s 70% dip is the steepest second-weekend drop ever.Still, the sequel’s total box office now stands at $230.7 million in the U.S. — and $473.7 million worldwide.
Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight saga, comes out June 30, 2010
